How to: Set Up a Parent & Child Campaign Structure

Modified on Wed, 21 Jan at 4:39 PM

Overview

Parent and Child Campaigns allow you to organise multiple related campaigns under a single hierarchical structure. Setup is straightforward and can be completed at any stage of the campaign lifecycle, though it is recommended to establish the structure before syncing media plans.

Step 1: Create the Parent Campaign

  1. Navigate to Campaigns

  2. Select Create New Campaign

  3. Enter the required Campaign details:

    • Campaign Name

    • Client

    • Start Date and End Date

  4. Select Save

This campaign will now act as the Parent Campaign.

Tip: Use clear naming conventions such as “Global Retail Campaign 2025” to make Parent Campaigns easy to identify.

Step 2: Create Child Campaigns

  1. Navigate to Campaigns

  2. Select Create New Campaign

  3. Enter details for the Child Campaign

  4. Select Save

  5. Open the Child Campaign

  6. Navigate to the Details tab

  7. In the Parent Campaign field, select the Parent Campaign

  8. Select Save

Linking Behaviour

Once a Child Campaign is linked:

  • Child Campaigns tab becomes visible on the Parent Campaign record

  • Additional Child Campaigns can be created or linked from the Parent Campaign

  • Existing Campaigns can be linked or re-linked at any time via the Details tab

Important Setup Rules

  • Parent Campaigns act as containers and reporting layers

  • Child Campaigns represent markets, phases, channels, products, or tactical streams

  • Media plans should be managed at the Child Campaign level
